Since the last response to course material, we have done a lot of annotating of The American Dream. I personally think that annotating is a little challenging, because I have never done it before. Doing it in groups and during class has helped me pick up on it and learn to think more critically and deeply about the text. I am excited to see how I do and what I pick up on when I finish annotating the rest of the play by myself. Going through “The Gift Outright” and figuring out what Robert Frost intended the theme to be was interesting as well. I am hoping that the more I go through, the better I will get at finding possible meanings and what the authors intentions are.
Good work responding once again to course materials. It really does a good job of letting us know how class it going for you. I think that American Dream is just a hard piece to start with annotating and so it makes sense that we are all struggling. I also think that Theater of the Absurd is just a difficult topic to understand. Good work
ReplyDelete"The Gift Outright" was really difficult but I enjoyed it and hope that we get to the point where it comes a little bit easier to us. I think going through it it groups was really helpful, too, and it made me go through the text in sections, instead of trying to tackle the whole thing at once, which makes annotating loads easier. Nice response!
ReplyDeleteNice response, I agree, annotating is pretty challenging, I'm never sure if what I'm annotating is really that important or if I missed something huge. Working in groups was very helpful, and practicing on "The Gift Outright" was a big help too, practicing on something so difficult. I'm sure we will get better at identifying the meanings as we practice.
